History
The story of DATA began in 1945, when Mehmet Hüroğlu started repairing marine vehicle parts in a 40-square-meter workshop. Since then, with over 80 years of experience, DATA has evolved into a company specialized in the design and production of hydraulic systems and deck machinery.
1945
In a 40 m² workshop in Büyükdere, Mehmet Hüroğlu began by repairing parts of marine vessels.
1975
Started manufacturing the first steering pumps and cylinders — a significant milestone in the company’s production journey within the maritime sector. This pioneering initiative showcased the company’s engineering expertise and aimed to reduce foreign dependency through domestic production solutions.
1979
"Data İş Makinaları Sanayi A.Ş.” was founded by Bülent Hüroğlu and Orhan Hüroğlu.
1984
The company name was changed to Data Hidrolik Makina Sanayi A.Ş., and operations were moved to a new 1,100 m² facility in Istanbul Yenibosna.
1985
Production began for equipment used on Turkish Navy ships built at Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command.
1995
Domestic production was expanded to include deck equipment such as towing hooks and winches, which had previously been imported.
2001
To meet the growing demands of the mega yacht sector, the product range was extended with custom-designed and high-budget project solutions.
2007
By taking part in the MİLGEM Project led by the Turkish Naval Forces Command, DATA once again demonstrated its expertise in naval projects.
2008
Relocated to a new factory in Tuzla, Istanbul, with 6,000 m² of indoor area and a total of 8,200 m², increasing production capacity.
TODAY
With more than 120 employees, DATA continues its operations with world-class production, exporting to 40+ countries across 6 continents.
