Zincir stoperleri, demirleme sisteminin önemli bir parçasıdır.
Sınıflandırma kuruluşlarının kurallarına göre, zincir stoperleri kullanılan zincir kablosunun (chain cable) en az %80’i oranında bir yükü taşıyabilmelidir.
Eğer bir zincir stoperi kullanılmazsa, aynı yükü ırgat freninin karşılaması gerekir. Bu nedenle zincir stoperi, ırgatın aşırı yüklerden korunması için kritik bir bileşendir ve DATA tarafından kesinlikle önerilmektedir.
To secure the anchor safely inside the anchor pocket, a locking mechanism known as a devil’s claw is used. This mechanism prevents anchor movement during navigation and avoids transferring excessive loads to the windlass.
