Reserve Oil Tanks

According to classification society rules, an additional fixed hydraulic oil storage tank must be provided in addition to the Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) reservoir. This tank must have sufficient capacity to refill at least one power unit reservoir, including the HPU itself. It should be integrated into the system with permanent pipe connections and located in a place that allows easy access from the steering gear compartment.

DATA offers reserve oil tanks in various capacities that are fully compatible with its hydraulic steering systems. These tanks must be installed at a higher elevation than the HPU reservoirs to enable oil transfer by gravity. Otherwise, it is recommended to use a pump in the line to facilitate oil transfer.
